Rhetorical Essay Self Assesment

When preparing for my research for this essay, I wanted to cover a controversial topic that pushed boundaries regarding perspectives and general opinions. Abortion laws and Roe v Wade seemed like the perfect topic to cover not only because of how much mainstream attention it brought when it first occurred but also because of the emotional battle displayed between the citizens of Missouri and their government. My primary goal was to focus on how emotion was conveyed and give my readers an in-depth understanding of the thin line between being a citizen allowed to move of their own free will and having limitations put on them due to the government thinking what’s best for them. The purpose of this essay for me was to see how I can use my skills as a writer to provoke emotional points of view from my audience. I did a great job directing and providing key evidence that I uncovered through the research that I’ve conducted. This assignment allowed me to experiment with my ability to think critically and gather information that supports the message that I want to convey within my writing. I believe I provided a reliable source to help with my essay; it provided statistics and timeless facts from the 1980s to the present day. Overall, I have done a good job conveying my essay’s message.
